Queen of Cheese and Father of Modern Texas Cuisine Lifting Spirits “An Evening with Paula Lambert and Stephan Pyles”
Lifting spirits? You bet! While this illustrious duo chats for our pleasure, the subject matter could be drawn from world travels on their guided trips focusing on wines and cuisine with great notes on local cheeses, their roads to their celebrity, fun and mishaps experienced in the rise to the top of their professions, their roots, their friendship, understanding of their role in elevating the taste for fine food in our city, Texas and beyond, reflections on Dallas and its place in the world of haute cuisine, deveopment of cheese lovers, and just about anything else from their universe of delights. Come enjoy a glass of wine and delicious hors d’oeuvres with them and friends.
We know and greatly appreciate Paula Lambert who has presented a program to our members on all things cheese. She founded the Mozzarella Cheese Company after a trip to Italy where she became smitten with that particular cheese, and Dallas has watched her brand grow from a tiny local cheese company to a brand respected internationally. She has a highly trained staff that adheres to her rule of all cheeses handmade.
In the world of haute cuisine, there are few levels of note that Chef Stephan Pyles has not reached. This celebrated chef was the first person in the southwest to win a James Beard Award for Best Chef and was the first Texan inducted into The Beard Foundation’s Who’s Who of Food and Wine in America. A 5th generation Texan, he is founding father of Southwestern Cuisine, cookbook author, philanthropist, educator, and creator of 23 restaurants in six cities over the past 32 years. Chef Pyles is now focusing on special events, private dinners, hospitality consultations, license agreements, and guided culinary trips around the world.
