Katie Hebeler, MD, Chair

Physicians in Training Membership/Program Committees

Katie is keeping close to the family – her extended medical family. Her mother, RuLan Hebeler, has been an active member of the DCMSAF for years having served as Aldredge House chair for the past three years and is now president-elect. Katie, who grew up going to the Alliance holiday parties at Aldredge House, had an Alliance cheering squad when its members found out that she had earned her MD. Her road to getting there went through Hockaday, Washington University and UT Southwestern – class of 2020. She is now a general surgery resident at Baylor University Medical Center, following her father’s footsteps into medicine. In her spare time she loves being outdoors, cooking, reading and gardening.  Katie has a twin brother and an older sister.

The Position

As chair of Physicians in Training, a liaison role for the residents and students to the Alliance, she represents the Dallas area residents and encourages resident and student membership, activities, and collaborations with the Dallas County Medical Society Alliance and Foundation. Recruiting residents and students and connecting with those who had become members through TMA are among the responsibilities.  Giving ideas for programs and activities of particular interest to this group is also requested by the organization. It’s a great job to get to know colleagues.
